Due to inclement weather projections for this weekend, the Saint Peter's University baseball team (0-1) will now play a single game at Coppin State (1-3) this Saturday (2/23), and a doubleheader on Sunday (2/24).
First pitch on Saturday is slated for 5pm, while Sunday's doubleheader will begin at 12pm.
The series will be played at Joe Cannon Stadium in Hanover, MD.
Saint Peter's comes in following a 9-1 loss to #25 University of Virginia in their season opener this past Monday.
The Peacocks trailed the Cavaliers 3-1 following an RBI single by sophomore Nick Henriquez in the 7th, but Virginia added three runs in the bottom of the frame and three more in the eighth to seal the victory.
Matt Speckmann led the Peacocks from the plate going 2-4, and added a stolen base. Starting pitching Matt Mancini received the loss for the Peacocks, despite a solid effort on the mound. The junior righty gave up 3 runs (1 earned), 5 hits, 3 walks and struck out 5 in 6 innings of work.
Coppin State enters the series after picking up their first win of the season, 10-8, over Navy on Wednesday.
