Opening Pitch - The Saint Peter's University baseball team will take a break from Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action to face off against Northeast Conference (NEC) schools Monmouth University and Wagner College…the Peacocks will play a single game against Monmouth on Wednesday at 3pm...the contest was originally scheduled for Tuesday at 3pm, but was pushed back a day due to forecasted inclement weather...Saint Peter's will match up against Wagner in a three-game series over the Easter weekend...the teams will play a doubleheader on Thursday and a single game on Saturday...

Peacocks vs. Seahawks - Saint Peter's is 12-19 all time against Wagner, since the teams' first meeting in 1981...last year, the Peacocks faced the Seahawks once and dropped a 19-2 decision in Staten Island, N.Y...

Peacocks vs. Hawks - Saint Peter's is 12-29 all-time against Monmouth since the teams' first meeting in 1969...last year, the Peacocks split the season series against the Hawks...Saint Peter's picked up a 6-3 win on March 27th of 2012 in Jersey City, N.J. and fell 7-3 less than a month later in West Long Branch, N.J...

Leading The Way In Non-Conference Action – Senior Matt Speckmann leads the squad offensively in non-conference action this season…the infielder is batting .340 (18-for-53) in the 15 non-MAAC games the Peacocks have played in and has drove in 11 runs while scoring 10…sophomore Nicholas Henriquez is not too far behind Speckmann, batting .326 (15-for-46) with seven runs and five RBIs, and Pat Farrell comes in with a .323 average (10-for-31)…

Peacocks Start Off MAAC Play On Strong Note - The Peacocks opened up MAAC play with a 2-1 record after playing a three-game series against the Canisius College Golden Griffins this past weekend…the series win marked the first time Saint Peter's has bested Canisius in a three-game series since 2006…the series win also marked the sixth time in the last seven years that Saint Peter's has opened MAAC play with a series victory… 

We Want Moore – Freshman Robert Moore was named the MAAC Rookie of the Week after helping lead the Peacocks to a 2-1 series win over conference foe Canisius College…Moore finished 4-for-9 from the plate in the series, while scoring four of the Peacocks' nine total runs…all four of his hits were doubles, to allow him to record an .889 slugging percentage against the Griffs…in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, Moore went 3-for-4 with a walk and scored two runs to mark the second multi-hit game of his young career…

Yeehaw To Yuhas On The Mound - Senior right-handed pitcher Mathew Yuhas led the Peacocks to a sweep of MAAC foe Canisius by pitching a seven inning, complete game shutout in the nightcap of Saturday's doubleheader…Yuhas scattered three hits, one walk and struck out six on 119 pitches to improve to 3-1 on the year, and allow the Peacocks to capture their first series win over the Golden Griffins since the 2006 season...Yuhas would out-duel Canisius' starter Devon Stewart in the 2-0 victory, en route to the third shutout of his career- making him first all-time in the Peacock record books…the complete game was the second of the season for Yuhas, and the sixth of his career in 18 starts for the Peacocks… 

It Runs In The Family - Freshman John Leiter, nephew of former MLB All-Star and World Series Champion Al Leiter and of former MLB right-handed pitcher Mark Leiter, has impressed in his first season in the Peacocks' uniform…Leiter has made three appearances in relief on the year, and has started in four…in 22 innings, the righty has allowed just 13 hits on the year while striking out 14…against UMES (3/02) he picked up his first career win and against NJIT (3/16) he notched his first career save…

Making Their Way Into The Record Books - Power hitter Chris Grimes has etched his name into the Peacock record books, sitting in the top ten in multiple categories...the fifth year senior is sixth all-time in doubles (35), seventh in home runs (12) and eighth in RBIs (88)...he is also first in fielding percentage (.993) and putouts (790)...James Smith currently sits at second all-time in lowest stolen base against percentage (.559), while Matt Mancini is fifth in career ERA (3.94)...

Coming To Bat – The Peacocks will take host their first home contest of the year on Wednesday, April 3rd, as they host Long Island-Brooklyn at 3pm at Jaroschak Field...
