Baseball Suffers Setback at St. John’s

QUEENS, NY – The Saint Peter's baseball team suffered a mid-week setback to St. John's on Tuesday evening in Queens, NY. The Peacocks dropped the contest 14-2.


Angel Perez (Jersey City, NJ / Marist HS) went 2-for-3 in the leadoff spot, highlighted by a triple in the top of the fourth inning, which led to the Peacocks' first scored run when Nick Ciocco's (Cherry Hill, NJ / Cherry Hill) RBI sent Perez home. Austin Feigin (Toms River, NJ / Toms River North) went 1-for-3 at the plate and scored the Peacocks' second run in the top of the fifth after reaching base from his single to right field, stealing second, and then crossing home plate following an RBI double by Alex Slawinski (Carteret, NJ / Carteret).


Joe Albunia (Jersey City, NJ / Hudson Catholic) and Aditya Chandel (Edison, NJ / J.P. Stevens) pitched three innings each in the seven inning game and combined for three strikeouts. Starting righty, Albunia (0-4) received the decision.


The Peacocks are back on the pitch Wednesday, April 5 for a meeting at Fordham. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. in Bronx, NY.
