Chris Marquart Hits First Career Home Run against FDU on Tuesday

TEANECK, NJ – Freshman catcher Chris Marquart (Hackettstown, NJ / Morris Catholic) sent a ball over the right field fence in the bottom of the sixth inning for his first career homer for the Saint Peter's baseball team on Tuesday in a non-conference game against Fairleigh Dickinson. The Peacocks suffered a 7-1 defeat in the contest.


Marquart recorded a 2-for-2 day and added a walk in addition to the home run and RBI to lead the Peacocks. Peter Ferony (West Milford, NJ / West Milford), Angel Perez (Jersey City, NJ / Marist HS), Eric Mercado (Bronx, NY / All Hallows), and Austin Feigin (Toms River, NJ / Toms River North) each logged a hit in the game.


Peacock starting right-handed pitcher, Willie Krajnik (Lyndhurst, NJ / Saint Mary) struck out five hitters in five innings of action.


The Peacocks will be back in action tomorrow when the team travels to Piscataway for a non-conference date with Rutgers. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
