MEN'S GOLF LINKS
JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's University men's golf team will head to the 2017 NCAA Golf Regional on Monday, May 15 at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, Texas. The first round will start promptly at 8am.
The field features 12 other teams which includes host, University of Texas, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Ole Miss, Georgia Southern, Wake Forest, Liberty, Arizona State, College of Charleston, Iowa State, North Carolina State, and McNeese State.
Last Time Out
The Peacocks won the 2017 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Golf Championship on Sunday afternoon, the program's third title in the last four years (2014 and 2015). Sophomore, Mike Winter was the individual top finisher, earning the individual crown and McLeod Trophy for the Most Outstanding Golfer (MVP) of the tournament. First year, head coach, Nick Dilio was named the MAAC Coach of the Year.
MAAC GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Freshman Ryan Rodriguez was named MAAC Golfer of the Week on April 12 after his performance in the Peacock Invitational. Rodriguez became the first MAAC weekly award winner since 2015.
MEET THE STAFF
Head Coach Nick Dilio is a three-time NCAA qualifier, claiming the 2016 MAAC individual title. In the process of his collegiate career, he participated in the NCAA Regional action three consecutive years. As a junior he was a MAAC Runner-up and registered four top-15-and three-top-10 showings at the MAAC Championships. Dilio also made an appearance in the Porter Cup which is one of the top amature tournaments in the world. In previous years the Porter Cup hosted golf legends Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, David Duval, Ben Crenshaw, and Hal Sutton.
Director for the Men's Golf team is previous head coach, Peter Falloon. During his time as
the head coach, he led the Peacocks to two consecutive MAAC Championships in 2014 and 2015. Falloon led Saint Peters in the NCAA Sugar Grove Regional in 2014 and the NCAA New Haven Regional in 2015. Three out of four years Falloon was named MAAC Coach
of the year. Falloon was part of the undefeated golf team in 1964 and was selected as student-athlete of the year in 1965. He is now a member of the Saint Peter's Athletic Hall
