Men's Golf Competes in Ireland

JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's University men's golf team will compete overseas  in the Tip O'Neill Donegal Diaspora Golf Challenge on October 21, at the Ballyliffin Golf Course in Donegal, Ireland. Practice rounds for the teams will begin on Friday at 9:30pm and the competition will start on Saturday at 11am.

"From a golf stand point, it is going to be very different," said head coach Nick Dilio. "Not only the weather but the course conditions are much different then what we normally play in."

The Peacocks will play one round of stroke play on Saturday with a tee time of 12:00pm. The Ballyliffin Golf Course features two championship links course and a 36-hole course. The field features four non-conference schools which are, University of Massachusetts, Worcester State, Magee University, and Letterkenny Institute of Technology.

All individuals participating will compete for the longest drive at the 9th hole and the closest to the pin at the 7th hole. Rules for the event are standard four players per team, Single Stableford and best three cards to count per team.

"No matter what happens on the golf course, I think it will be a great experience for all of us," added Dilio. "Not too many teams can say that they've gone to Ireland."
