Men’s Soccer Edged by Niagara on the Road

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – The Saint Peter's men's soccer team was edged, 2-0, Saturday night on the road at Niagara University. The Peacocks fall to 1-7-2 and 0-4 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) on the season.


For the second consecutive contest, the Peacocks held the shots (24-9) and corner kicks (12-1) advantage, but was unsuccessful finding the back of the net. The Peacocks also logged 10 shots on goal compared to Niagara's three on the night.  


Winger, Jordan Jowers, led the Peacocks with seven shots, having four on goal. Gabrielle Bandelli followed Jowers with five shots, while both Ezequiel Cei and Dominic Laws both posted four shots each. Saint Peter's starting goalkeeper, Robbie Anderson, made one save in net on the night.


Niagara's Luca Pacheco scored both Purple Eagle goals in the contest. The first tally came in the first half in the 20th minute. His second goal came in the 57th minute on an unassisted free kick from 25 yards out.


The Peacocks remain on the road and will travel to Connecticut on Wednesday, October 11 for a matchup with Fairfield. Kick-off is scheduled for 7pm.
