Men’s Tennis to Host Coppin State in Breast Cancer Match

JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's Men's Tennis team will host Coppin State at home in the Yanitelli Center on Saturday, October 15 at 1pm.

Scouting report on Coppin State…Saturday's meeting with the Peacocks will be the season opener for the Bald Eagles. Coppin State posted a 2-14 overall record in 2016. The two wins for the Bald Eagles both came against MEAC foe Maryland Eastern Shoe.

Last time out… Saint Peter's fell, 7-0, in its MAAC opener against Quinnipiac. The Peacocks are now 0-3 on the young season.

Up next… This will be the final fall match for the Peacocks. The team will return to the court in January.

About the coach… Head coach for the men's and women's tennis team is Mike Scolamieri. Scolamieri started his coaching career at St. Mary's High school in Jersey City. He is a 30 year member of the United States Tennis Association, member of the Arlington Player's Tennis Club in Kearny, NJ and the Balboa Park Tennis club in San Diego, CA. In 2002, he was one half of the APC Doubles Champions. Scolamieri earned his Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies with a minor in English at NJCU.
