JERSEY CITY, NJ. - The Saint Peter's University men's and women's tennis teams will be welcoming the Loyola University Greyhounds of Maryland to the Yanitelli Recreational Life Center Bubble this Saturday, February 11. First serve is slated for 1pm.
Last Time Out - The men's tennis team fell to the Rams of Fordham University and the Women's Tennis team dropped their match against the Seahawks of Wagner College by identical scores of 6-1. Douglas Nover won his match at No. 4 singles 7-6 (7), 6-4 and Lucia Radovic won her match at the top flight 6-3, 4-6, -. Lucia Radovic and Malieva Hedberg also won No. 1 doubles 6-3.
History - Last year, the men's tennis team lost to Loyola (MD) 6-1 with alumni, Daniil Ivanov, winning at No. 1 singles. Only two more sets were won with Daniil Ivanov and Jorge Rodriguez teamed up to win at No. 1 doubles and Douglas Nover losing at No. 6 singles in three sets. The women's tennis team fell to Loyola (MD) by a score of 7-0 with Malieva Hedberg losing a tough, three set match.
Up Next - The men's team re-opens MAAC play against hOURglass rival Monmouth University. The match is set for Friday, February 17, at 8:30pm at the New Shrewbury Racquet Club in Tinton Falls, NJ. The women's team will see a new team across the net in the Bubble when they welcome the Akron University Zips from Ohio. Match time is set for 2pm on Saturday, February 18.
