Men's Tennis Fall, 6-1, to Sacred Heart

MILFORD, NJ - The Saint Peter's University men's tennis team fell to the Pioneers of Sacred Heart University, 6-1 on Sunday afternoon. 

 

Results - Cuong Lam was the only Peacock to get a point on the board. He won in straight sets at No. 6 singles against Matt Suprenant 6-4, 6-3. Saint Peter's lost the doubles point. Jorge Rodriguez and Andres-Sebastian Rojas fell to Cory Seltman and Derek Chapman 6-2 at No. 1. Gabriel Russotto and Jonathan Paredes lost by an identical score of 6-2 against Seiji Hosokowa and Francisco Del Valle Diaz at No. 2. Douglas Nover and Ivan Knezevic had the closest doubles match at No. 3, falling 6-4 to Chris Sause and Bryan Einstoss. Jorge Rodriguez dropped a close match at the top flight to Seltman 6-2, 3-6, 10-5. Andres-Sebastian Rojas fell to Hosokowa 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Ivan Knezevic lost to Chapman 6-1, 6-4. Douglas Nover lost to Einstoss at No. 4 singles by a score of 6-2, 6-4. Gabriel Russotto lost to Del Valle Diaz 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.

 

Up Next - The Saint Peter's men's tennis team, along with the women's team, will be playing next weekend against the Terriers of St. Francis College (Brooklyn) on Saturday at 1pm and the Leopards of Lafayette College on Sunday at 11am.
