JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's women's tennis team snapped their losing streak with a 6-1 win against St. Francis College Brooklyn. The men's team fell to St. Francis Brooklyn, 4-3.
Men's Results - The Peacocks lost the doubles point, 2-1. Cuong Lam and Gabriel Russotto were victorious at No. 2 against Stefan Gmijovic and Zurab Tskhakaia, 6-1. Jorge Rodriguez and Andres-Sebastian Rojas dropped a close match at No. 1, 6-4, against Alejandro Ridruejo and Guillermo Artiz. Douglas Nover and Jonathan Paredes fell to Javier Navarro and Pablo Blasco-Torres at No. 3, 6-0. Rodriguez fell to Ridruejo 6-2, 6-2, at No. 1. Rojas was defeated by Artiz at No. 2, 6-1, 6-1. Knezevic won against Gmijovic, 7-5, 3-6, - at No. 3. Douglas Nover lost to Navarro, 7-5, 6-1 at No. 4. Russotto came back from a set down at No. 5 to win against Blasco-Torres, 3-6, 7-6(2), -. Lam was victorious for the second match in a row at No. 6 against Tim Cecere, 6-1, 6-2.
Women's Results - The Peacocks won the doubles point by winning all three matches. Lucia Radovic and Malieva Hedberg won against Laura Dimante and Sara Bogdanovic, 6-4, at No. 1. Claudia Hellman and Elena Melian Puigventos won 6-2 at No. 2 against Patro Runsi and Kimera Tanko. At No. 3 Stephanie Falcon and Christian Resurreccion defeated Andrea Rojo and Akyi Lenjor, 6-1. Radovic won 6-2, 6-2 against Dimante at No. 1. Puigventos won at No. 2, 6-1, 6-1, against Bogdanovic. Hedberg was dropped by Runsi Patro at No. 3, 6-3, 6-4. Hellman won easily at No. 5 against Tanko, 6-0, 6-0. Due to Saint Peter's clinching the win, Resurreccion played won an 8-3 pro set against Lenjor at No. 6.
