Men's Tennis to Meet hOURglass Rival Rider on Friday

JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's University men's team returns on the road for a MAAC and hOURglass rivalry match at Rider University. The rescheduled match time is set to begin at 3:30pm in Lawrenceville, NJ. The men's own a 1-18 overall record and a 0-5 record in the MAAC.

 

Last Time Out - The Peacocks fell in a conference match to the top ranked team in the preseason poll, Marist College, 7-0 in Wappinger Falls, NY.

 

History - Last season, the men's team pulled out a 6-1 win in the Yanitelli Recreational Life Center Bubble on April 16 over Rider. Alumni Daniil Ivanov (No. 1 Singles/No. 1 Doubles), Jorge Rodriguez (No. 2/No. 1 Doubles), Jonathan Paredes (No. 3 Singles) Gabriel Russotto (No. 4 Singles/No. 3 Doubles), Douglas Nover (No. 5 Singles), and Cuong Lam (No. 3 Doubles) all won at their respective positions for the men.

 

Scouting - The men's team of Rider University go into the match with a 2-14 overall record and a 0-5 record in the conference. They have wins against the College of Holy Cross and Salem International University. The Broncs men's team was picked last in the MAAC Tennis Preseason Poll.

 

Up Next - The men's team, along with the women's team, will honor the seniors in a pre-match ceremony at the next match in the Yanitelli Recreational Life Center Bubble on April 22. Come out and support the teams one last time at home and send the seniors away with a win against the Niagara University Purple Eagles at 10:00am.
