Brianna Hutchinson is Named to the Softball All-MAAC Rookie Team

NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Saint Peter's University softball freshman infielder, Brianna Hutchinson, has been named to the All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie team, announced by the conference at the annual awards show tonight.

"Brianna Hutchinson is very deserving of this honor," said head coach Chris Stelma. "She was one of our most consistent hitters all year and stepped up in a leadership style that's not typical of a freshman."

Hutchinson has been a dominant hitter for the Peacocks averaging a .311 batting average, hitting two home runs, recording 20 RBI's, and logging two stolen bases. The designated hitter is ranked in the top twenty for batting averages in the MAAC.

The Lebanon, OH native has started all 40 games this season where she has played in two rolls as the designated player and first base. Hutchinson recorded her best game of four runs scored and one RBI against Coppin St. on April 19.

Hutchinson becomes the first All-MAAC selection under first year head coach Chris Stelma.
