Softball Wraps up the UMBC Dawg Pound Tournament

BALTIMORE, MD - The Saint Peter's softball team dropped both games in the second day of the UMBC Dawg Pound Tournament. The Peacocks were defeated by Sacred Heart in the first game, 5-1 and fell in the second game, 15-1 to La Salle.

"We got a real nice performance in the circle from both Taylor Lewis and Sydney Ramsey," said head coach Chris Stelma. "We had a freshman step in and play a little shortstop for us this weekend as well and do a nice job."

Game 1 vs. Sacred Heart

Harley Connors scored the lone Peacock run with a homer at the top of the first. The Peacocks were unable to score against Sacred Heart and dropped the contest 5-1.

Game 2 vs. La Salle

The Peacocks didn't score until the bottom of the sixth inning. La Salle led the Peacocks 8-0 until Theamaris Ramirez hit a double, scoring Harley Connors. The Peacocks were unable to cross home plate again and La Salle went on to win the game, 15-1.

Next up

The Peacocks will host Lafayette in their 2018 home opener on Thursday, March 22. The double header is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
