EVENT: Rutgers Invitational

Saint Peter's indoor track and field team will compete in a two-day event in the Rutgers Invitational this weekend. Six other schools will be competing including MAAC rivals Rider and  Monmouth. The other schools competing will be Lafayette, Leman, USMMA and Central-Newark.

Last Time Out

Germaine Lascelles topped the Peacocks in the 300 meter dash on Dec. 9 at the Seahawk Shootout. Lascelles registered a team-best time of 35.15 in the 300 meter dash, placing first overall.
Jamel Presley recorded an 8.15 finishing time in the 60 meter hurdles, placing second overall while Jeph Olali posted a best time of 7.21 in the men's 60 meter dash.
Alexes Washington paced the women, jumping a 1.50 in the high jump event. Georgie Nicholes paced the women in the 3000 meter run, with a time of 10.28.611 and Adia Ledbetter posted a 11.54 throw in shot put.

Saint Peter's will head to Manhattan to compete in the Ramapo College Invite on Jan. 13.

about the Coach… Phyllis Anderson has taken on the role as Head Coach of the Saint Peter's cross country and track and field teams. Anderson has guided multiple MAAC individual champions in 2015-16 at the league's indoor and outdoor track and field championships. She has built A. Philip Randolph High School track and field program into a powerhouse leading them to nearly 20 consecutive Manhattan borough championships along with multiple indoor and outdoor New York City titles. Anderson has coached multiple Olympians, including gold medalist Natasha Hastings (Team USA 2008) and Barbara Selkridge (Antigua, 1988). Anderson holds a bachelor's degree from Queens College (NY) and a master's degree from City College of New York. Anderson is a recent inductee into the Armory Coaches Hall of Fame. 

Joining the team is assistant coach, Rudy Thompson. Recently he coached at George Washington High School since 2012. He specializes in sprints, distance, along with field events, discus, pole vault, and shot put. Thompson earned a bachelor's degree from North Carolina A&T and a master's degree from Brooklyn College. In addition, he has also completed an advanced certificate at Brooklyn college and course work towards a masters at Touro College.
