MIDLOTHIAN, VA – The Saint Peter's women's bowling team finished third in the Virginia Union University Invitational at the Bowl America Southwest Lanes earning the team's first trophy of the season.
"I'm extremely proud of the teams performance this weekend, especially on Friday," said head coach Jennifer Houseward. "The chemistry on the lanes this weekend was great. If they had a bad game they came back as a team and picked themselves up. Hopefully, with a break now until our next tournament we can continue working on the things we need to and this success continues into next semester."
On day one, the Peacocks finished in second with eight wins and one loss, scoring (827, 838, 853, 989, 932) totaling 4,439 pins in the baker matchups.
During the second day of competition, Vicky Spirio led the Peacocks with a total score 927. Gabrielle Morales followed with a total of 864, Jacqulyn Broadford finished with 801, Amanda Santos finished with 634, Carolina Hernandez had 530 and Jasmine Hodges finished 452 pins.
On Sunday, the final day, the Peacocks finished in third place with a score (827, 838, 853, 989, 932, 959, 784, 852, 789) with a total of 8,647 and an average of 179.9 pins.
This concludes the women's bowling 2017 slate. The team will resume play in 2018 on January 12th in the Frederick E. Underwood Classic.
