History with Siena
Saint Peter's and Siena have met every season since Saint Peter's became a women's soccer program in 1992. The Peacocks trail the Saints 4-22-1 all-time. The Saints have won 19 straight against the Peacocks, with Saint Peter's last win in the series coming in 1998, when the Peacocks earned a 2-1 decision.

Saints Scouting Report

Siena brings an even 3-3 MAAC record into the weekend contest. The Saints are riding a three-game winning streak, with wins over Canisius, Iona, and Marist. Siena has a 4-1 home record this season and have outscored opponents, 11-6, in Loudonville.

 

Last Time Out

One game after the Peacocks huge upset over Marist, the Peacocks suffered a 3-1 setback to Manhattan on Wednesday night in Riverdale. Victoria Babcock (77') scored the Peacocks goal in the second half in the contest, cutting the Peacocks deficit to 2-1, before the Jaspers added an insurance goal late in the match. Victoria Scarratt made eight stops in goal for the Peacocks.

 

Up Next

The Peacocks return to Jersey City after a two-week hiatus on Wednesday, October 11 when the team host Fairfield. The Peacocks will look to make it two straight wins at home when they kick-off at 3pm.   

 

MAAC Player of the Week

Barbara Paiva earned MAAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the week of September 11 after amassing three goals and one assist for seven total points. Paiva's three goals and seven total points were more than any other MAAC player had on the week, leading to her first career weekly award.

 

Looking Back at 2016

Saint Peter's ended the 2016 season with a 1-13-2 overall record and a 0-9-1 record in the MAAC. The Peacocks earned a league point for the first time in over two years last season with its draw with Fairfield and the team took playoff qualifying Canisius to overtime on senior day. Saint Peter's also gave up 34 less goals in 2016 compared to 2015, cutting its average goals allowed per game from 4.64 in 2015 to 2.81 in 2016. 

 

Looking Forward to 2017
The Peacocks only lost three seniors from the 2016 squad and the team returns 13 players from last year's roster. Returning starters include Taylor McLean, Alyssa Conanan, Brooke Trotta, Mia Greene, Olivia Nazzaro, Alexandria Couto, Aleena Cruz, Victoria Babcock, and Kelsey Nugent.  

 

New Additions
Head coach Melissa Sherwood added six new student-athletes to the 2017 team. Nazae CrawIsabel FernandezCarlee GonzalezRachel IngramElizabeth Pacillo, and Victoria Scarratt joined the lineup for the fall.

 

About the Coach
Melissa Sherwood is in her second season as the women's soccer head coach at Saint Peter's in 2017.
