LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Saint Peter's women's soccer team was shutout by Siena College on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Saints 5-0. The Peacocks record drops to 3-9 and 1-5 in the MAAC.
Freshman goalkeeper, Victoria Scarrat made nine saves in goal for the Peacocks. Kelsey Nugent and Barbara Paiva each recorded two shots in the setback. Both of Nugent's shots were on goal, while Paiva had one shot on goal.
Siena used four second half goals to earn the win. Saint goals came from Gabby Albano (2), Meghan Riccardi, and Kelsey Horst. The second of Siena's five goals was an own goal made by Saint Peter's after a corner kick deflected off of the head of a Peacock player landing in the net.
The Peacocks were also at a disadvantage in both shots (26-7) and corner kicks (11-0) in the contest.
The Peacocks return to Jersey City on Wednesday, October 11, the first time since the Peacocks upset Marist, 1-0, on September 27. The home match is set for a 3pm kick.
