LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL – The Saint Peter's women's soccer team's season came to an end during the first round of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) championship at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The Peacocks fell to hOURglass Rival Rider, 3-1, in the match. Junior Brooke Trotta scored the Peacock's goal in the 86th minute of play.
Senior Carlee Gonzalez with three shots led the Peacocks. Barbara Paiva and Kelsey Nugent each logged two shots on the day while Trotta's lone shot resulted in a goal. Freshman goalkeeper, Victoria Scarratt made eight saves in goal for the Peacocks.
Rider scored two goals in the first half, made by Valeria Pascuet in the 28th minute mark and Ellie Smith in the 32nd minute mark. In the second half, the Broncs added a third goal scored by Meghan McCabe in the 48th minute.
The Peacocks were at a shot disadvantage (24-8).
Saint Peter's concludes the season with a 3-13-1 overall record and a 1-8-1 MAAC mark. The Peacocks finish the 2017-18 campaign with four league points, the most in a season for the program since the 2011 season when that squad earned six MAAC points.
