Women's Tennis Comes Up Short at Marist on Sunday

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Saint Peter's University women's tennis team was defeated in a MAAC match by Marist College, 7-0. Their record drops to 2-15 overall and 0-5 in conference play. Marist improves to 6-3 with a 3-0 showing in the MAAC.

 

Results - The Peacocks lost the doubles tandem point, 3-0. Lucia Radovic and Malieva Hedberg fell to Ariel Shulman and Amy Galloway at the top doubles flight, 6-3. Elena Melian Puigventos and Claudia Hellman lost at No. 2 doubles, 6-2, against Chloe Lant and Sophia Moeller. Azuri Hughes and Aidah Muhammad lost, 6-0, against Callie Morlock and Claire Schmitz at No. 3 doubles. At No. 1 singles, Radovic was defeated by Shulman, 6-3, 6-0. Puigventos was dropped at No. 2 singles against Schmitz, 6-1, 6-2. On the third court, Hedberg battled and won the first set but lost in three sets, 6(3)-7, 6-3, [10]-[5], against Moeller. Hellman, No. 4 singles, fell to Galloway, 6-3, 6-1. Christian Resurreccion played No. 5 singles against Morlock and lost 6-0, 6-3. Muhammad, No. 6 singles, fell to Elizabeth Brozovich , 6-1, 6-2.
