JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's women's tennis team fell to MAAC and hOURglass rival, Monmouth University, in their first and last home match for the fall season. The Hawks won all matches to win 7-0. The Peacocks will enter the winter/spring season with a 0-3 overall record and a 0-2 recod in the conference.
Doubles Results - Stephanie Falcon and Azuri Hughes dropped No. 1 doubles to Alexandra Graff and Maria Ivanova, 6-2. Aidah Muhammad and Marta Ortega were topped by Sophia Frederickson and Chinonye Gabriel, 6-3, at No. 2 doubles. Rachel Valentine and Jeniffer Guilherme were defeated at No. 3, 6-0, by Rachel Rosenthal and Caroline Mattise.
Singles Results - Falcon lost at top singles against Graff, 6-2, 6-2. Hughes fell to Frederickson, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 2 singles. Muhammad suffered a 6-3, 6-1 lost to Rosenthal at No. 3 singles. Ortega fought in the second set at No. 4 singles but ultimately lost to Gabriel, 6-1, 7-5. Valentine was defeated by Ivanova, 6-0, 6-1. Guilherme, in her collegiate debut, dropped No. 6 to Mattise, 6-1, 6-0.

"Final score turned out like I expected but Rachel Valentine played better than I expected regardless of her score, so that was a plus for us. Unfortunately, they are in the conference so it would have been great to be 1-1 and not 0-2. I hope all of the women learned what they need to work on during the off season so we can compete well during the winter/spring season."
