JERSEY CITY, NJ – Head coach Mike Scolamieri has announced the winter/spring schedule for the Saint Peter's women's tennis team for the 2018 season. The schedule is highlighted with 15 home matches over a span of 18 contests.
"The women's team will face an extremely difficult schedule," said Scolamieri. "Their improvement will be measured in terms of their skills progress in the winter and spring. Fortunately, we play Coppin State, St. Francis Brooklyn, and Baruch which are the only breathers on the schedule having defeated both Coppin State and St. Francis Brooklyn last season."
The Peacocks will open the second half of the season in New York City for a match on January 26 at Columbia.
The women's team and Scolamieri will then return home, welcoming their next 10 foes to the Yanitelli Recreational Life Center Bubble. LIU Brooklyn and Providence will be in Jersey City on January 28 and February 3, respectively. Marist will be the third conference game of the season, with the Peacocks playing them on Friday, February 9. The team will host Loyola (MD) and Wagner on February 10 and 11. Coppin State will be at the Bubble for the second consecutive year on February 17. Hofstra and La Salle will close out the month's matches on February 19 and 25, respectively.
On Sunday, March 11, St. Francis Brooklyn will be in New Jersey, followed by Sacred Heart from Connecticut on March 18 to conclude the 10-game home stand.
The Peacocks will take an in-state trip to Teaneck, NJ on March 20 to play Fairleigh Dickinson, before returning to Jersey City to welcome Queens (NY) on March 23.
The team will then have four consecutive conference matches in a row. The final away match will be at Fairfield on March 25. Then Siena, Niagara, and Rider will be in Jersey City to end the MAAC slate on April 8, 15, and 20, respectively.
