Fairfield Defeats Women's Tennis

FAIRFIELD, CT - The Saint Peter's women's tennis team were swept by Fairfield University, 7-0, on Monday in an away MAAC match.

 

Doubles Results - The Peacocks were forced to default No. 3 doubles due to only five players available to compete. No. 1, Stephanie Falcon and Azuri Hughes, and No. 2, Aidah Muhammad and Marta Ortega, lost by identical scores of 6-0 against the doubles teams of Sarah Stuhlmann and Emily Lombard,i and Diana Prinos and Anna Komer respectively. Courtney Connors and Gabriella Campos won by default at No. 3.

 

Singles Results - Saint Peter's defaulted No. 6 singles. Falcon lost by identical set scores of 6-2 at No. 1 against Prinos. Muhammad was the other Peacock to win games as she lost 6-0, 6-3 at No. 3 against Komer. No. 2, Hughes, No. 4, Ortega, and No. 5, Jeniffer Guilherme, were not able to get a game on the board, losing 6-0, 6-0 against Lombardi, Jessica Pil, and Connors, respectively.

 

Up Next - The Saint Peter's women's tennis team returns home to host Queens (NY) on Wednesday, April 11. Match time is set to start at 3:00pm.
