JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's women's volleyball team honored senior, Caitlinn Williams on Sunday afternoon in the Yanitelli Center as the team closed out the 2017 home schedule. The team dropped the conference match to Quinnipiac 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-23).
Alexus Sharp led the Peacocks with eight kills and eight digs while Kali Viles followed with seven kills. Imani Spicer led the Peacocks with 118 assists and Karla Seda led posting a team high of 18 digs.
Leading the Bobcats was Kat Miller with 11 kills and Natalie Alechko followed with 10 kills. Maria Pansari led with 29 assists and 18 digs.
In the first set, the Peacocks trailed Quinnipiac 7-3 before gaining four straight points falling short two points at 9-7. The Peacocks eventually evened the score at 10-10. The Bobcats later led the Peacocks 17- 12. The Peacocks continued to play as they notched a 5-2 run falling short one point at 18-17. The Peacocks scored three points and th Bobcats won the game 25-20.
The Peacocks fell behind at 9-3, but scored three straight points trailing 9-6. Quinnipiac went on a 5-2 run leading the Peacocks 15-8. A kill by Danielle Lopez propelled the peacocks to a six point run leaving the score at 15-14. The Peacocks were able to add three points before the Bobcats won the game 25-17.
In the final set, the Peacocks trailed early at 8-2. Eventually, the Peacocks evened the score at 10-10. A few plays later the Bobcats led 16-13 and the Peacocks gained four points leading 17-16. The score tied at 19 and the Peacocks led 21-19. The Peacocks added two more points and Quinnipiac won the match 25-23.
The Peacock will travel to Rider on November 11th for their season finale. The match is scheduled to start at 1pm.
