LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - Saint Peter's women's volleyball team closed out the 2017-18 season Rider 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-19) Saturday afternoon. Alexus Sharp led the Peacocks with 10 kills and eight rebounds.
Leading the Broncs were Jennifer Borio with 16 kills, Emma Aldaya with 18 digs and Veronica Koval with 42 assists.
In the first set, The Peacocks trailed the Broncs 3-8. The Broncs then added three straight points leading the Peacock's 11-3. Rider later increased their lead as they held the Peacocks to five points leading 19-8. THe Peacocks were able to add three points to their score a they trailed 19-11. Saint Peter's posted only three more points and the Broncs won the set 25-14.
Early in the second set the Peacocks trailed the Broncos 8-3 before cutting the deficit to three straight points falling behind the Broncs 8-6. Rider held the Peacocks to one point before their lead grew to 13-9. Saint Peter's eventually cut the deficit after rallies back and forth falling short one point at 18-17. The Peacocks scored only more three points and Rider took the 25-21.
In the final set, the Peacocks got off to a good start as they tied the score 5-5 then led by two points at 7-5. Each team scored a point before the Broncs tallied nine straight points leading Saint Peter's 15-8. The Broncs continued the strong lead over the Peacocks as they went on a 8-3 run to lead the Peacocks 23-11. The Peacocks increased their score adding eight straight points falling short at 23-19. Rider then finished the game winning 25-19.
This concludes the 2017 Saint Peter's women's volleyball season.
