The Saint Peter's University Athletics Department unveiled a revamped visual identity and branding platform ahead of the start of the 2020-21 academic year. Comprised of a revamped branding package that incorporates a fresh take on the peacock mascot logos, a brand-new monogram, an updated wordmark, a unique typeface and a variety of new spirit marks round out a comprehensive department-wide rebrand that makes one of the country's most unique collegiate athletics mascots (and the only such mascot in the NCAA Division I ranks) stand out even further. Saint Peter's Announces $5 Million Lead Gift from Thomas P. Mac Mahon '68 for RLC Transformation
Saint Peter's University announced that Thomas P. Mac Mahon '68, member of the Saint Peter's University Board of Trustees and retired chairman and chief executive officer of LabCorp, has committed a $5 million lead gift to launch the phased renovation of The Victor R. Yanitelli, S.J. Recreational Life Center (RLC). The renovation will ultimately transform the historic and fundamentally vital facility while enhancing the experience for current and future students, the University's Division I student-athletes, alumni, members of the local community, Peacock fans and more. When complete, the project, which will be funded by restricted gifts, will have a profound impact on recruitment, community engagement, support for athletics and institutional pride. READ MORE

The Saint Peter's University duo of Taiah Thornton and Dominic Laws have received honorable mention recognition for Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Year. Rising redshirt senior Thornton of the women's basketball program and rising senior Laws of the men's soccer team, were nominated as the Saint Peter's Student-Athletes of the Year for their work in the classroom and on their respective playing fields. Saint Peter's Places Second in Men's MAAC Pepsi Zero Commissioner's Cup Final Standings
Bolstered by historic campaigns from the men's basketball and men's soccer teams, which highlighted an overall year of excellence throughout all 16 athletic programs in Jersey City, Saint Peter's recorded a second-place finish in the men's Commissioner's Cup standings, marking its best finish in nearly 30 years and just the department's seventh top-five placement in the men's circuit since the league began tracking individual men's and women's standings in 1984. The only other academic year that saw a better placement was when the Peacocks placed first on the men's side in 1993-94. READ MORE

MAAC Statement on Fall Sports Competition
The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) made the difficult decision to cancel fall sports competition due to continuing health and safety concerns surrounding the global COVID-19 pandemic. A decision on whether fall sport competition would be feasible in the spring will be determined by the Council of Presidents at a later date. Athletically related activities and training opportunities for enrolled student-athletes will be structured in accordance with each institution's procedures and applicable state regulations.
