Men's and Women's Basketball Conclude 2020-21 Seasons in MAAC Basketball Championships
The Saint Peter's basketball programs finished their seasons at the Hercules Tires MAAC Basketball Championships in Atlantic City last week. The men bowed out in the semifinal round with a loss to Fairfield, while the women secured a spot in the championship game before losing to Marist, ending their historic season. Ndefo, Mitchell Win MAAC Major Awards
For the second straight season, Saint Peter's men's basketball standout, forward KC Ndefo, was named as the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year. Ndefo was the league's unanimous choice as the top defensive player in 2020-21, following his unanimous selection to the All-MAAC First Team. For the first time since 1999, a Saint Peter's women's basketball head coach has earned Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Coach of the Year honors. Marc Mitchell, in just his third season at the helm of the women's basketball program, has been named The Rock MAAC Coach of the Year. KC Ndefo Becomes Saint Peter's Men's Basketball All-Time Leader in Career Blocks
Saint Peter's men's basketball junior forward KC Ndefo become the program's all-time leader in career blocks with his first swat in the Peacocks' semifinal game against Fairfield. Ndefo had five blocks in the game and now sits at 214, surpassing the previous record of 209, held by Ryan Bacon '11. Ndefo was also named to the 2020-21 Lefty Driesell Defensive All-American Team and as a finalist for the Lefty Driesell National Defensive Player of the Year award. READ MORE

MAAC Announces All-Conference Honors
Five Saint Peter's men's and women's basketball student-athletes earned spots on All-MAAC teams following the conclusion of the regular season. Redshirt-senior Taiah Thornton earned All-MAAC First Team honors, while classmate Kendrea Williams received her first all-conference nod after being selected to the All-MAAC Third Team. Freshman Ajia James rounds out the group, earning a unanimous selection to the MAAC All-Rookie Team. KC Ndefo secured a unanimous spot on the men's first team, while Daryl Banks III claimed third team honors. James, Castro, Geck Earn Weekly Honors
Women's basketball freshmen Ajia James and Sky Castro were named this week's Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for the week of February 24. James followed the honor up with MAAC Rookie of the Week and an honorable mention in the Metropolitan Basketball Writer's Association Player of the Week voting for the week of March 1. Marie Geck, a member of the women's swimming & diving team, was named the Hercules Tires MAAC Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of February 24.
