MEN'S BASKETBALL SELECTED AS #15 SEED IN EAST REGION FOR NCAA TOURNAMENT, WILL TAKE ON #2 KENTUCKY IN OPENING ROUND
After a historic run that ended in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament title for the first time since the 2010-11 season, the Saint Peter's University men's basketball team was selected as the #15 seed in the East Region for the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament and will head to Indianapolis to take on the second-seeded University of Kentucky in the opening round. The Peacocks will play No. 2 seed Kentucky on Thursday, March 17 at 7:10 p.m. in Indianapolis. The Saint Peter's University Athletics department is selling tickets for $100/ticket. Led by another dominant defensive effort and clutch shooting down the stretch, the Saint Peter's University men's basketball team took down Monmouth University 60-54 Saturday to win the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament championship for the first time since the 2010-11 season and the fourth time in program history. After a strong year on the court in the 2021-22 season, the Saint Peter's men's basketball program had three student-athletes selected for All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference awards as senior KC Ndefo earned Second Team All-MAAC honors, junior Daryl Banks III was selected to the Third Team All-MAAC and freshman Jaylen Murray was selected to the All-Rookie Team.
