Donna Barone Named Saint Peter's College Head Softball Coach

JERSEY CITY, NJ (September 15, 2008) - Donna Barone has been the named the 12th Head Softball Coach in Saint Peter's College history. She comes to Saint Peter's after serving as the assistant coach at Fairleigh Dickinson - Florham for the past three seasons.

"We are thrilled with the addition of Coach Barone to the Saint Peter's College coaching staff," stated Patrick Elliot, Director of Athletics. "Her passion and commitment for teaching the game along with her successful playing career as a Division I student athlete, makes her an excellent choice to lead the softball program at Saint Peter's."

Barone coached at Wagner College in 2000, and was the head coach of the Staten Island Saints 18 and under Travel Team in 2001. She played her collegiate softball at Long Island University where her team won the 1999 NEC Championship and went on to the NCAA Tournament.
