JERSEY CITY, NJ - Senior women's volleyball co-captain Katherine Sura has been selected as a finalist for the 2009 NJAIAW Woman of the Year Award.
The Psychology and Elementary Education major from Bogota, NJ will be honored at ceremonies this Sunday, February 1st at Seton Hall University. The New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women is honoring outstanding female student-athletes from the state of New Jersey at their 16th annual celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day, held during Sunday's Seton Hall vs. West Virginia women's basketball game. Sura was nominated based on the athletic excellence, academic achievement, service and leadership she has demonstrated at Saint Peter's College during her four years as an undergraduate student and student-athlete.
