Former Peacock Chris Merce Wins WGA Public Links Championship

Saint Peter's College assistant golf coach and former Peacock Chris Merce won The Journal News/ WGA Public Links Championship in a playoff against James Cirocco and Herb Peterson.  What started off as a three way playoff was down to two players after the first hole. Chris Merce and James Cirocco then battled it out over four holes with Merce birdying the 5th hole to win the Championship. James Cirocco took second and Herb Peterson took third. All three players shot 74 to get into the playoff. The Championship took place at the Links at Unionvale in Lagrangeville, NJ.
