The Saint Peter's College (1-4) baseball team picked up their first victory of the 2012 season, defeating UNC-Asheville (4-2), 3-1, in the second game of a double-header. The Peacocks dropped the first game by a 3-0 margin. In the first game, SPC recorded just 3 hits to Asheville's 6, with the hosts scoring all three of their runs in the bottom of the sixth to record the victory. Zach Hopf allowed 3 ER, walked 2 and struck out 7 in 5.2 innings pitched, to be credited with the loss. Russel Stupienski went 2-3 from the plate and drove in two runs in game two to lead the Peacocks to their first win. Justyn Carter scored 2 runs for SPC. Saint Peter's scored a run in the first, third and seventh, while Asheville scored their lone marker in the sixth. Matt Yuhas went 5.1 innings, gave up 6 hits, 3 walks but allowed just 1 earned run to pick up the win.
