The offensive surge continued for Saint Peter's (3-11), as they trounced the Savannah State Bulls (5-11) 13-0 in the first game of today's double-header, while falling 6-1 in the second. Zack Hopf pitched sensationally in the first contest, going 7 scoreless innings and giving up just 3 hits while striking out 9. Mark Wilson gave up three hits and three runs (one earned) to receive the loss in the second game.

Saint Peter's scored three runs in the second inning behind an RBI single from Alberto Rodriguez and a two RBI double by Mike Scicutella. With two runners on base and noone out in the next inning, Nicholas Henriquez would single in Preston Aldridge to put the Peacocks up 4-0.

The Peacocks scored at least one run in every inning from there on out, including two in the fourth, three in the fifth and six each and one in the seventh.

Saint Peter's recorded a season high 15 hits in the game and did not commit an error. Six Peacocks finished with two hits and 10 total players recorded at least one. Nicholas Henriquez led SPC going 2-3 from the plate (walking once), with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Alberto Rodriguez finished 2-4 with 3 RBI and 1 run scored while Mike Scicutella went 2-3 with 2 RBI and 1 run scored as well.

Savannah State managed just 3 hits and left 4 runners on base.

In the second game, both teams were kept scoreless until the fourth frame, when the Bulls scored three runs, and then three more in fifth. The hosts needed just three hits to score all six runs, aided by two Peacock errors.

Saint Peter's scored their lone run of the game in the sixth, as Matt Mancini crossed home plate following an error by the Bulls' shortstop.

Alberto Rodriguez led Saint Peter's going 2-3 from the plate. Despite the loss, the Peacocks out-hit the hosts 6-4.

 
Saint Peter's returns to action on Tuesday, March 13th as they travel to Teaneck, NJ to face off against local Garden State rival, Fairleigh Dickinson for a 3:30pm start.
