Softball Finishes 2012 Season with Doubleheader Loss to Manhattan

The Saint Peter's College Peahens had their 2012 season come to a close this afternoon after a pair of losses to the Manhattan College Jasers. The Jaspers won game one 7-2 and game two 11-4. In the opener, Manhattan started the scoring with one in the fourth and two in the fifth. Saint Peter's cut the deficit to 3-2 after scoring a pair in the fifth on an RBI single by Nicole Schnecker and then scored an unearned run. The Jaspers then added four in the seventh to take the victory. In game two, Saint Peter's scored first as Nicole Olmedo hit a two run homer in the first inning. Manhattan then scored six in the third, one in the fourth and two in the fifth for a 9-2 lead. The Peahens got one back in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI single by Carolyn Griffin, but the Jaspers added two more in the seventh. Saint Peter's scored the final run of the game in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single by Olmedo. Olmedo was 2-4 with a run scored and three RBI in game two.
