Women's Soccer Falls to Yale 8-1

The Saint Peter's University women's soccer (1-7) team was defeated by the Yale University Bulldogs (3-3), 8-1. The Peacocks trailed 3-0 entering the second half, but the Bulldogs exploded for 5 second half goals to seal the victory.

Saint Peter's scored their lone goal at the 67:10 minute mark, off the foot of junior transfer Greta Vogel. Freshman Schanay Fischer assisted on the goal, for her first assist/point of the season.

Mary Kubuik scored two markers for the Bulldogs, while Muriel Battaglia (27:17), Kristen Forster (40:08), Melissa Gavin (53:00), Anne Song (57:40), Shannon Conneely (59:20), Juliann Jeffrey (67:25) and Mary Kubiuk (89:22) each added a goal.

Meredith Speck recorded three assists in the victory.

Saint Peter's was out-shot 27-14, with 7 of their shots on goal. The Bulldogs registered 10 corner kicks to the Peacocks' 3, and committed 8 fouls to Saint Peter's 4.

Senior goal keeper Caitlin Hoffer managed 12 saves in the loss.

The Peacocks match up against the LIU-Brooklyn Blackbirds on Friday, September 14th for a 6pm kick off.
