Women's Soccer Defeated By Lafayette

After a scoreless opening frame, the Lafayette College Leopards (2-1-1) erupted for three second half goals to defeat Saint Peter's University (1-5) this afternoon.

Senior goalkeeper Caitlin Hoffer managed to block 6 Lafayette shots in the first half to keep Saint Peter's in the game, but the Leopards were able to get on the board just over fourteen minutes into the second half. At 56::23, Alyssa Finelli sent a shot from 18 yards out that Hoffer nearly blocked, but still found the back of the net.

Jill Dozier added an insurance marker for the Leopards at 84:40, and netted a second goal less than five minutes later for the third and last Lafayette goal.

The Peacocks totalled 7 shots in the match, 4 of which were on goal, to Lafayette's 24.

Caitlin Hoffer finished with 9 saves in the match. Emily Fenice and Jamie Lisanti each took 2 shots.

Saint Peter's returns home this Friday, September 7th, for a 3:30pm game against Mt. St. Mary's.
