JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's men's tennis team defeats conference foe Rider on Sunday.
The Peacocks enjoyed success in both singles and doubles play, defeating the Broncs in every match.
In singles play, sophomore Carlos Carrera (Quito, Ecuador/APCH) kicked things off, defeating his opponent in straight sets (6-1, 6-1). Senior Marko Knezevic (Zadar, Croatia/V. Nazor) played well, defeating his opponent in straight sets as well. Freshmen Tom Jottrand (Waterloo, Belgium/CCM), Jorge Rodriguez (Havana, Cuba/Elizabeth) and Luke Whaley (California/La Costa Canyon) all had a great performance, defeating their opponents in straight sets.
With the win, Saint Peter's improves to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
Saint Peter's returns to action Oct. 17, when they hit the road to compete in the ITA Indoor Regional.
