JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Saint Peter's swimming and diving head coach Mohamed Abdelaal has announced his 2013-14 schedule.
"We strive to compete against higher level competition to insure that our athletes are being challenged", said Abdelaal, who enters his seventh season at Saint Peter's in 2013-14. "We are extremely excited to see how our athletes measure up."
The squad opens up the 2013-14 season Oct. 18-19, when they travel to compete in the Sonny Werblin Invitational at Rutgers University. Following the meet, the Peacocks return home, where they welcome the Stevens Institute to the Yanitelli Center to close out the month of October.
The team opens up November, with its Alumni Meet on Nov. 9. The following week, the squad travels to Newark to compete against NJIT on Nov. 15. Saint Peter's closes out the month of November on the road, heading to Rutgers University to compete in the Frank Elms Invitational.
The squad returns to action Dec. 6-7, when they travel down to Loyola to swim in the Loyola Greyhound Invitational. The team continues its road trip on Dec. 13, heading to Manhattan College for its match against Manhattan and Montclair State to close out the month.
The Peacocks first match of the new year is on Jan. 18, when they travel to take on conference foe Rider University. The squad then returns home to close out the month with consecutive matches against Manhattan on Jan. 24 and Iona on Jan. 25.
"Every competitive effort throughout the season is a cumulative attempt at preparing for our ultimate goal of winning the conference," says Abdelaal.
The team opens up the month of February with a trip to Connecticut to take on Bridgeport on Feb. 1. Saint Peter's concludes the 2013-14 season, with the MAAC Championships on Feb. 13-15.
