Women's Volleyball Falls At Manhattan On Saturday

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Saint Peter's women's volleyball fell on Saturday to conference foe Manhattan.

Lauren Behrens (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) tallied a team-best 11 kills. Dayana Arrufat-Rondon (Truyillo, Puerto Rico/Carvin School) registered six kills in the loss. Kristina Baehr (Manassas, Va./ Stonewall Jackson) finished with 18 assists and Jenny Pliska (Portland, Ore./La Salle College Prep) amassed 20 digs in the contest.

In the first set, Manhattan jumped out to an early 12-6 advantage. The Peacocks would fight back, scoring three straight points to cut the deficit to three. The Jaspers would maintain its lead, taking the first set 25-14. 

Second set, both teams would trade points, with Manhattan leading 9-8. Manhattan would build on the lead, scoring four consecutive points to take a 13-8 advantage. The Jaspers would not look back, taking the second set 25-17.

In the third set, both teams would exchange points to tie the set at 20. With the set tied, Manhattan would score four straight points on its way to a 25-21 third set win.

With the loss, Saint Peter's falls to 3-21 overall and 1-9 in MAAC play.

Saint Peter's returns to action on Sunday against Iona College.
