The Broncs lead the series 17-10, but the two teams have split the last two meetings by the identical score of 2-0 after Rider won the tilt in 2011 and the Peacocks took the last meeting in 2012.

the word on the broncs… Rider comes into the contest 6-3-0 and 1-0-0 in MAAC play after defeating Marist 3-1 on Saturday. Freshman M Christian Flath leads the team with five goals and five assists for 15 points. Junior F/M Ryan Walsh and sophomore D Sonimi Halliday are tied for third with two goals for four points. Freshman GK David Pastuna has 29 saves, a 1.07 goals against average and a .806 save percentage.

last time we met… Luca de Stasio scored in the 76th minute to help Saint Peter's defeat Rider 2-0 on Oct. 28, 2012. After the Peacocks' got on the scoreboard on an own goal in the 26th minute, de Stasio found the twine off a Jacob Robertson assist in the 76th minute. Carlos Suarez made seven saves for Saint Peter's while Matt Perrella turned away six shots for the Broncs.

last time out… Marcel Maddee' notched his first career two-goal performance to help Saint Peter's open MAAC play with a 2-all draw against Niagara on Saturday. Maddee' found the twine in the 24th minute to tie the game at 1 and scored again in the 82nd minute to even the game at 2. After recording two goals and three assists last year, the junior leads the team with four tallies and four assists for 12 points after his first collegiate multi-goal performance. Omar Crowl assisted the first Maddee' marker for the Peacocks while Carlos Suarez made 10 saves on the day.

next on tap… Saint Peter's heads to Marist on Saturday and then will return home to host Manhattan on Oct. 16.

conference openers… Saint Peter's ended the league opener in a draw for the fifth time in program history (1981, 1985, 1996, 2007 and 2013). It also marked the second time in team history the squad opened the league slate with a tie against Niagara (1996).

who wants to play 90, lets play some more… It was only fitting that the Peacocks' first league game went into overtime after opening the season with an extra session contest. The squad has played five overtime games this season and three-straight matches. It marks the most overtime games in a season since the team played seven during the 2007 season and it also marks the first time since that season Saint Peter's has opened up play in the circuit with a draw.

no mop up time for mobbs… Freshman Louis Mobbs has scored twice this season and both goals have helped the Peacocks to victories. The freshman notched his first collegiate goal in a 2-1 win against George Washington on Sept. 18 and then notched the golden goal in the double-overtime victory against Bryant on Sept. 27. The freshman is tied with junior Marcel Maddee' for the team lead with two tallies this season.

aye, aye maddee'… Junior Marcel Maddee' leads the team with four goals and four assists for eight points. The junior was the squad's top returning scorer from 2012 with two goals and three assists for seven points.

collegiate firsts… Freshmen Louis Mobbs and Nick Sifrin both notched their first collegiate goals in a 2-1 win against George Washington on Sept. 21. Sophomore Michael Broncati notched his first career point with the decisive helper in a thrilling 1-0 double overtime victory against Bryant on Sept. 27.

stepping up… Junior David Giddings has stepped in for senior Carlos Suarez in goal and has made 14 saves in three games and recorded a 1.41goals against average and a .750 save percentage. Giddings earned his first win in a Peacocks' uniform in a 2-1 win against George Washington on Sept. 18.

mobbs fresh award… Louis Mobbs was named the MAAC Rookie of the Week for the week of Sept. 23-29. It is the freshman's first career league honor. Mobbs was important part of the Saint Peter's unbeaten week on both sides of the ball. The freshman scored the game-winning goal against Bryant on Friday when he headed in a corner kick serve from junior Marcel Maddee' off a headed pass from sophomore Michael Broncati at the 106:15 mark to hand the Peacocks a 1-0 double overtime win against the Bulldogs. One of three freshmen starting in the Saint Peter's defense in 2013, Mobbs helped anchor a defense that only allowed one goal in 216 minutes and 15 seconds of action in two overtime matches in the week that resulted in the Peacocks posting a 1-0-1 mark in that span. It marked the second time this season a Saint Peter's player has been honored by the MAAC after senior Carlos Suarez was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 2-8, 2013. Suarez is also the last Peacock to be selected as MAAC Rookie of the Week. The senior took home the award for the week of Sept. 14-20, 2009.

suarez honored… Senior Carlos Suarez was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 2-8. It is his second weekly conference award in his career after being named MAAC Rookie of the Week on Sept. 20, 2009. Suarez made 12 saves in a scoreless result against Lafayette on Wednesday. The All-MAAC Preseason goalkeeper posted a clean sheet against the 2012 Patriot League champions including three saves in the 20 minutes of overtime. The Leopards peppered Suarez with 14 shot attempts and the senior netminder turned away all 12 shots on goal.

what a debut… Junior Omar Crowl made his Saint Peter's debut against St. Francis Brooklyn on Sept. 10 and notched his first goal of the season. It was also the first tally of the year for the team.

collegiate debuts… Freshmen Lukas Binting, Luke Fairlamb, Reece Lambert, Louis Mobbs and Nick Sifrin each made their collegiate debuts in the starting lineup against Temple on Aug. 30 while freshmen Chris Stragepede and Fredy Umanzor each saw their first collegiate action off the bench against the Owls.

suarez gets preseason nod… Senior Carlos Suarez was named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Preseason team. Suarez started 14 games last season for the Peacocks, registering 64 saves, a 1.77 goals against average and a .719 save percentage.  Both of the senior's shutouts came in league after holding Fairfield (Oct. 12) and Rider (Oct. 28) off the scoreboard in 2-0 victories.

preseason poll… Saint Peter's was picked ninth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll. Monmouth, who has dominated the Northeast Conference (NEC) for the last decade, has been tabbed as the preseason favorite in its first year in the MAAC. Iona, Fairfield and Niagara round out the Top-4 teams in the poll while Siena, Quinnipiac, Canisius, Marist, Saint Peter's, Manhattan and Rider complete the 11-team poll. Along with Monmouth, Quinnipiac will be competing in the league for the first time after playing in the NEC last season.

on the all-time charts… Senior goalkeeper Carlos Suarez ranks seventh in program history with 238 saves. Suarez can move into sixth place with 14 stops. The senior also ranks seventh in career wins with 13 victories and he can jump into sixth place with one victory.

foreign flavor… Head coach Julian Richens has an international feel to his 2013 squad. Freshman Lukas Binting (Germany), sophomore Michael Broncati (Brazil), freshman Luke Fairlamb (England), freshman Reece Lambert (Australia), junior Marcel Maddee' (Germany), freshman Louis Mobbs (England), sophomore Jack Pounce (England), senior Johan Romero (Colombia), freshman Nick Sifrin (Germany) and senior Carlos Suarez (Bolivia) each hail from countries outside the United States.

new to the flock… Head coach Julian Richens has added junior Omar Crowl and freshmen Lukas BintingColin Covello, freshman Christopher Delapenha, Luke Fairlamb, Reece LambertSantiago Mateus, Louis Mobbs, Manuel Navas, Nick Sifrin, Chris Stragepede and Fredy Umanzor to the team in 2013.
