BALTIMORE, Md. – The Saint Peter's men's and women's swimming team were swept in three dual meets during the Loyola Greyhound Invitational on Friday.
Jonathan Gomez (Cali, Columbia/Patrick Henry [Va.]) paced the Peacocks men's swimming and diving team with a second-place standing in the 200 IM with a time of 1:55.67. Sean Dunne (Holmdel, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) finished eighth in the event with a time of 2:00.48 while Nicholas Riepe (Middlesex, N.J./Saint Joseph) was fifth in the 500 free with a time of 4:47.85.
Gomez and Dunne teamed up with Alejandro Rubin (Caracas, Venezuela/San Ignacio) and Trey McGraw (Berkley, W. Va./Patrick Henry) to place third in the 400-medley relay (3:32.65) while McGraw, Gomez, Rubin and Riepe placed fourth in the 800-free relay (7:11.36).
Rachel Wuko (Wildwood Crest, N.J./Wildwood Crest) paced the women's swimming and diving team with a fourth-place standing in the 50 free with a time of 24.46. Anastasiia Mushtei (Dneiptopnovsh, Ukraine/Finans Deukomi placed sixth in the 500 free with a time of 5:12.94 and Marie Feneron (Molsheim, France/Lycee Henri Meck) was 10th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:13.09.
The relay team of Matea Samardzic (Split, Croati/Ekonomsko-Birotehnicka Skola), Alexandra Sison (Jersey City, N.J./Saint Dominic Academy), Cristina Decisneros (Tampa, Fla./Sickles) and Wuko finished third in the 400-medley relay (3:56.42) and Samadzic, Christina Petrelis (Belle Mead, N.J./Montgomery), Mushtei and Alma Lopez (Lawrenceville, Ga./Brookwood) placed fifth in the 800-free relay (7:58.78).
The men lost 57-43 to Iona, 84-23 to Loyola and 84-16 to Marist while the women lost 57-34 to Iona, 79-28 to Loyola and 87-20 to Marist.
Saint Peter's returns to the pool in the final day of the Loyola Greyhounds Invitational on Saturday. Events start at 10 a.m.
