The Saint Peter's University men's and women's swimming and diving teams welcomed the University of Bridgeport to the Yanitelli Pool this past Saturday. The men were defeated by a score of 117-85, while the women came away with a 105-95 victory.
Eleven seniors were honored prior to the first event; Lovro Bilonic, Ali Hassan, Peter Jimenez, Brendan King, Yohancey Kingston, Valerijs Lebedevs, Facundo Monteiro Kempf, Ayberk Furkan Ozturk, Lowell Thomas Tanyag and the lone female senior, Raven Innis.
The women were led by two first place finishes from Anastasiia Mushtei (1,000 Yard Freestyle, 500 Yard Freestyle). Rachel Wuko finished first in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 24:62- a new Saint Peter's record.
Cristina Decisneros (100 Yard Butterfly) also came away with a first place finish.
The 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Alexandra Sison, Alma Lopez, Christina Petrelis and Rachel Wuko closed out the meet by besting Bridgeport with a time of 3:41.97.
Senior Valerijs Lebedevs concluded his career in the Yanitelli Pool with two first place finishes to lead the men (200 Yard Freestyle & 100 Yard Butterfly), while fellow senior Lovro Bilonic also captured first place in the 100 Yard Breaststroke.
Sean Dunne claimed the last first place finish for the Peacocks; completing the 400 Yard IM in 4:12.53.
Saint Peter's will participate in the MAAC Championships from February 14th-16th in Buffalo, NY.
