Box Score 2 The Saint Peter's University softball team dropped a 5-4 decision to the UMES Hawks on Saturday. Erica Colon pitched 3.1 innings of relief and gave up an unearned run to receive the loss.
The Peacocks jumped out to an early 4-0 lead; scoring all 4 markers in the top of the first.
Lee Harisson doubled to left field with two outs, scoring Sierra Parker and Fran D'Amato. Senior pitcher Shelby Beaver came to the plate in the next at bat, doubling in Harrison from second to make the score 3-0.
Tori Feorenzo brought in the final run of the game for Saint Peter's singling up the middle to bring in Beaver.
UMES scored 3 in the bottom of the inning, and tacked on another in the third and the game-winning run in the bottom of the 5th.
Parker went 3-4 and scored a run, while Beaver went 2-3, scored a run and batted in a run.
