Box Score DOVER, Del.- The Saint Peter's University baseball team (4-7) dropped a 4-0 decision to the Delaware State University Hornets (8-5) this afternoon. With the loss, the Peacocks were swept by the hosts after losing both games of yesterday's double-header.
The Peacocks managed just one hit in the contest; a grounder up the middle in the eighth by freshman James Spadaccini (Butler, N.J./Butler High School).
Eric Mozeika (Secaucus, N.J./High Tech) received the loss for Saint Peter's after pitching three innings and giving up six hits, four runs (one earned) and one walk. Mozeika struck out two batters.
Freshman Jon Leiter (Toms River, N.J./Toms River South) turned in an impressive performance in relief of Mozeika; going five innings and not allowing a hit or run. Leiter did walk four batters, however.
DSU scored three runs in the second and added their last marker in the fourth.
The Hornets were led by shortstop D.J. Miller who finished 2-for-4 from the plate. Teammate Cameron Onderko scored two runs for the hosts.
The Peacocks committed two errors in the contest.
Saint Peter's returns to action on March 15th, as they face off against Sacred Heart at 3:30pm.
