Box Score 2 ORLANDO, Fla. – Saint Peter's dropped a pair of games in non-conference softball action at the final day of the Rebel Games on Saturday. The Peacocks (3-20) lost 12-0 to North Dakota in five innings and then fell 6-0 to Columbia in the nightcap.
Chelsea Crews (Seattle, Wash./Mountlake Terrace) paces Saint Peter's with three hits on the day, including two hits against the Lions. Taylor Corretjer (Theills, N.Y./North Rockland) and Alexis Gallagher (Narvon, Pa./Garden Spot) also had two hits in the second game.
Columbia got the scoring started with a run in the third and then posted five runs in the fifth to earn a 6-0 victory.
The Peacocks recorded a base hit in every inning, but the sixth and the squad had a runner on third several times in the contest.
In the first, Lee Harrison (Las Vegas, Nev./Coronado) singled to the catcher and moved to second on a Crews single to right field with one out. After a fielder's choice, Harrison was then picked off third to end the inning.
Gallagher led off the third with an infield single and stole second with no outs. She moved to third on a ground out, but was left on third after a groundout ended the scoring chance.
With two outs in the fourth and Sierra Parker (Chino Hills, Calif./Caldwell College) on first base, the Peacocks recorded back-to-back singles by Amber Velasquez (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) and Corretjer to load the bases before a groundout ended the inning.
In the seventh, Corretjer opened the frame with a bunt single to third base. Gallagher followed with a single up the middle, but a strikeout and a double play ended the game.
Tori Feorenzo (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) took the loss in the second game.
Elizabeth Cudney notched two three-run homers and seven RBIs to fuel North Dakota to a 12-0 victory in the opener. Cudney hit a three-run homer in the second and the third and capped off her seven-RBI performance with an RBI in the squad's six-run fourth.
Crews opened the second with a single and Nicole Olmedo (Chino, Calif./Chino) reached on a fielding error to put runners at first and second for the Peacocks, but a pop out, a fly out and a groundout ended the threat.
Francesca D'Amato (Lyndhurst, N.J./Immaculate Conception) posted Saint Peter's other hit in the contest with a two-out double, but was left stranded after a pop out.
Harrison took the loss in the opener.
Saint Peter's returns to action when the squad makes its home debut against Seton Hall in a single game on Wednesday. Game time is 4 p.m.
