CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lovro Bilonic (Split, Croatia) won the 100 breast to pace the Saint Peter's men's and women's swimming teams to a 13th-place standing after the second day of the ECAC Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday.
Bilonic, the 2013 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Most Outstanding Swimmer, won the 100 breast with an NCAA Division I "B" cut time of 53.49. He beat out teammates Peter Jimenez (Bayonnne, N.J./St. Peter's Prep) (56.16) and Valerijs Lebedevs (Riga, Latvia) (55.84), who finished second and third to help the Peacocks sweep the medals stand in the event.
Lebedevs also finished second in the 100 fly (49.07). Facundo Monteiro Kempf (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Escuela de Educacion), Bilonic, Lebedevs and Jimenez teamed up to finish third in the 200-medley relay (1:31.19).
Monteiro placed 12th in the 100 back (52.00) while Richard McGraw (Berkley, W. Va./Patrick Henry) was 14th in the 200 free (1:42.96).
On the women's side, Christina Petrelis (Belle Mead, N.J./Montgomery) placed 12th in the 400 IM (4:43.03).
After two days of competition, Saint Peter's sits in 13th place with 156 points. Boston University leads the event with a score of 1000.7 while Navy (543.5), Bucknell (511.5), Marist (449) and Columbia (316.5) round out the Top-5 teams in the field.
The final day of the ECAC Championships is Sunday. Preliminaries begin at 9 a.m. and finals take place at 4 p.m. Teams will be competing in the 1650 free, the 200 back, the 100 free, the 200 breast, the 200 fly and the 400 free relay.
