FARMINDALE, N.Y.- The Saint Peter's University track and field team continued their outdoor season by participating in the St. Joseph Golden Eagle Invitational this weekend. The Peacocks only partcipated in the first day of the two-day meet. The meet scheduled field events set for Saturday, and running events for Sunday.
The men were led by Ieshawn Johnson (Freeport, N.Y./Baldwin High School), who won the Discuss tossing a throw of 46.90m. Junior Kenechukwu Aneke (Long Island, N.Y./Holy Trinity) meanwhile took home second place in the Shot Put.
On the women's side, Cristina Vilsaint (Union, N.J./Union High School) was victorious in the Hammer with a toss of 47.90m. The trio of Vilsaint, Regina Raglan (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle High School) and Cherrice Brown captured one-two-three finishes, respectively, in the Shot Put.
Sunita Kumar, Sharlyn Ramirez and Vanessa Acosta also finished one-two-three in the Javelin. Kumar led the way with a throw of 32.57m.
Saint Peter's returns to action on April 6th at the Sam Howell Invitational in Princeton, N.J.
