Rider (5-25) finished with 13 total hits in the second game, paced by a 3-for-4, three RBI, two run performance by Dana Sensi.
Game one seemed to be shaping into a pitchers' duel, as Beaver and Rider starter Ali Meagher exchanged one-two-three innings to open up the contest. The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fourth, when the hosts scored two to take a lead they maintained for the remainder of the contest.
With one out, Olmedo would double to right center and move to third on a basehit by Parker. A groundout by Beaver put runners at second and third leading way for a double by Tinajero to put the Peacocks in front .
Rider attempted to rally back- scoring a marker in the next inning on an RBI double by Cottrell to slice the Peacocks advantage in half. Saint Peter's responded by recording a run of their own in the bottom of the frame on a two-out RBI single by Chelsea Crews (Seattle, Wash./Mountlake Terrace) to score Lee Harrison (Las Vegas, Nev./Coronado) who doubled to get on base.
Tinajero added her second run-scoring two-basehit of the afternoon in the sixth to bring home Parker who led off the inning with a single.
Rider left seven total runners on base in the loss, highlighted by a bases loaded jam that Beaver worked her way out of in the sixth.
Saint Peter's finished with nine total hits in the win compared to the Broncs' five. Rider's lone run was unearned.
The Peacocks were unable to carry the momentum from game one into the second contest, as Rider scored four runs off Peacock starting pitcher Erica Colon (Fairview, N.J./High Tech) in the top of the first.
Saint Peter's was able to cut the deficit to two, scoring a pair of runs in the third. With one out, D'Amato would double to right and score in the next at bat on a single by Crews. A walk by Olmedo put runners at first and second, until an RBI single by Beaver two batters later accounted for the final Peacock run of the game.
The Broncs exploded for a five run fourth to establish a comfortable 9-2 run over the hosts. Rider added two more in the fifth to seal the win.
Saint Peter's returns to action on April 3rd, for a non-conference doubleheader against Wagner in Staten Island, N.Y. scheduled for 2:30pm.
