Edmunds Ranks Ninth After First Round Of Whiting Turner Towson Invitational

GRAYSONVILLE, Md. – Eric Edmunds (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) finished ninth after the first round of the Whiting Turner Towson Invitational to lead the Saint Peter's men's golf team to a 17th-place standing on Sunday.

Edmunds registered birdies on the 11th and 14th holes, bogeys on the second, eighth, ninth, 10th, 12th and 16th and a double bogey on the 15th hole to end the first round in ninth place and seven-over par with a score of 79, 11 strokes behind the current leader.

Andrew Gain (Gold Coast, Australia/Bond College) (55th place, 79), Brian Grubbs (Cortez, Colo./Montetzuma Cortez) (79th place, 81), Nicholas Dilio (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) (99th place, 84) and Brandon Molson (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) (99th place, 84) also competed for the Peacocks.

William & Mary leads the three-day event after the first round with a score of 291, nine strokes ahead of Rutgers (300) while Loyola (302), LIU Brooklyn (304), Fairfield (305) and Indiana (Pa.) (305) round out the Top-5 teams in the field. Saint Peter's shot a 318 in the first round to finish in 17th place. 

The Peacocks return to action in the second round of the Whiting Turner Towson Invitational on Monday. Molson will tee off on the first hole at 12 p.m. and will be followed by Dilio (12:10 p.m.), Edmunds (12:20 p.m.), Grubbs (12:30 p.m.) and Gain (12:40 p.m.) on the first tee.
