Edmunds And Men's Golf Both Finish Eighth At Lafayette Invitational

EASTON, Pa. – Eric Edmunds (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) finished eighth to lead the Saint Peter's men's golf team to an eighth-place standing at the Lafayette Invitational on Monday.

After posting a 75 in the first round on Sunday, Edmunds carded a one-over round of 73 to finish the two-day event in eighth place with a score of 148, five strokes behind the medalist.

Andrew Gain (Gold Coast, Australia/Bond College) (16th place, 151), Brandon Molson (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) (24th place, 154), Nicholas Dilio (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) (61st place, 161) and Brian Grubbs (Cortez, Colo./Montezuma Cortez) (70th place, 162) rounded out the Peacocks' five team competitors. Luke Previte (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) (92nd place, 168) competed in the event as an individual.

Looking for its fourth tournament title this season, Saint Peter's went into the final round with a one-stroke advantage over Lehigh and Central Connecticut State. The Peacocks shot a 310 in the final round to post a 612 in the two-day event to place eighth while the Mountain Hawks carded a 294 to earn the victory with a total of 597. Drexel finished second in the event with a score of 604 while Iona (605), Central Connecticut State (607), Army (610) and Hofstra (610) rounded out the Top-5 teams in the field.

Saint Peter's has gone into the final round leading an event four times this season. The Peacocks won wire-to-wire at the ECAC Championship, won the single-round Monmouth Quad Match and rallied for the win at the Seton hall St. Barnabas Health Invitational in the fall.

Saint Peter's returns to action at the Monmouth Quad Match on Apr. 18.
